Pilates For All

At The Body Center we believe in Pilates as a movement discipline designed to work the body from the inside out with attention to breath and form as a way to regain balance and symmetry lost through sports, exercise, injury and everyday life.

Your sessions at The Body Center will challenge you to move in a stable, controlled manner focusing on the deep muscles of the abdomen, back, hips and shoulders. These deep, intrinsic muscles give you stability and support your skeleton so that every other form of exercise you complete is done with better body mechanics allowing for safer and more efficient performance whether you competing or chasing your kids around.

Pilates Controlled Movements

Your sessions at The Body Center will challenge you to move in a stable, controlled manner focusing on the deep muscles of the abdomen, back, hips and shoulders. These deep, intrinsic muscles give you stability and support your skeleton so that every other form of exercise you complete is done with better body mechanics allowing for safer and more efficient performance whether you competing or chasing your kids around.

Pilates has numerous benefits and over time will change your body but clients should have reasonable expectations. Pilates is not a cardio workout and although you are exercising your heart rate will not increase enough for an aerobic workout. And although Pilates does use spring resistance it does not work muscles to fatigue and as such the work is subtle you should not have much muscles soreness after a Pilates session.
